Our First Grade teachers were Mrs. Myrtle Linton and Miss Ruth Moore. Mrs. Linton is shown on the left top row of the Kindergarten graduation photo. Unfortunately we do not have a photo of Miss Moore. She was a sister of Mrs. Emma Canon, a well known piano teacher in the community. Miss Moore later taught one of our third grade classes. A report card was sent to parents every six weeks. It showed our grade (Satisfactory, Unsatisfactory, Outstanding, Not Working to Best of Ability, or Improving) for each of the subjects. It also showed the number of days absent and times tardy! The back of the report card included Teacher's Comments on Habits and Attitudes, signed by the teacher. The card was then signed by a parent and returned to the school.
